A fair review – pros and cons

Affordable rates combined with an excellent location near attractions and the train station for easy exploration make this a solid choice for budget travelers.

The room was quite small, making it difficult for both of us to unpack. the bathroom had a sliding door that didn't provide enough privacy, which made it uncomfortable. There was also no creamer provided for the kettle, so we had to settle for UHT milk from a nearby store instead.

my stay here was fantastic, as I enjoyed the hyper-comfortable bed after a day of exploring iconic spots like the Porte de Paris, just a short 10-minute stroll away, and the beautiful museums that are all less than 15 minutes on foot.

Centrally located with quick access to the regional rail station, making day trips a breeze. The rooftop breakfast area offers a lovely ambiance with fresh pastries, providing a nice way to start the day while enjoying views of the surroundings.

Room sizes tend to be cramped, making it tricky to maneuver with luggage. Bathrooms feel tight, and the sliding door design can lead to a lack of privacy. Noise from the main road can disrupt sleep if your room faces the street, especially early in the morning. Wi-Fi connection struggles at times, and lacking air conditioning can make the nights uncomfortable during warmer periods.

I stayed in a double room and loved the cozy atmosphere. The bed was hyper-comfortable, which was just what I needed after a long day exploring. The shower was fantastic, easily the best I've experienced during my travels, and the staff were always pleasant and available to help. The proximity to the train station was a great bonus for convenience!

the location of chagnot is fantastic, right across the road from the train station, making it super convenient. lots of restaurants are nearby, and exploring the city is a breeze. the staff were really friendly and helpful, providing great tips for our visit. we also enjoyed the recreational opportunities offered here.

Staying at Hotel Chagnot turned out really enjoyable. The location couldn't be better, just steps away from Gare Lille Flandres. Perfect for my travels. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a delightful surprise. The pastries were fresh and delicious, and the view added a nice touch. The staff were consistently nice, always ready to help. Sometimes, though, there was noise from the street due to the central location, especially early in the mornings. This did affect my sleep a bit, depending on my room position. Still, the value for money was excellent. I’d likely choose this hotel again for its substantial advantages, despite minor downsides.
